The "Embracing the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology: Symposium on the History of Modern Physics" was successfully held in Beijing from September 21 to 23, 2024. The symposium was jointly organised by the Institute of the History of Natural Science, CAS and ICTP-AP. Nearly 30 experts and scholars from China, Germany, USA, Canada, Italy, Russia, Japan, Brazil and other countries attended the seminar. The seminar attracted nearly 100 teachers and students from more than 10 institutes and schools.

During 3 days of Symposium, 23 experts and scholars in the fields of physics history and physics philosophy gave academic presentations on topics such as the evolution of basic concepts in modern physics, quantum physics philosophy, quantum revolution and social culture, individual and group research of physicists, physics and political diplomacy and international exchange and cooperation, Copenhagen interpretation, cutting-edge developments in gravitational quantum field theory, and the history of unified theory research.

*On June 7, 2024, the United Nations General Assembly officially announced 2025 as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. This symposium is one of the series of activities of Quantum Century (2025) in China.
