Introduction of Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study, UCAS

Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study (HIAS) at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) has been jointly established by the Hangzhou municipal government and UCAS. It is oriented to support the most advanced scientific, technological and social development to meet the needs of the regional and national economy and society. The institute occupies an area of 95,000 square meters, and it is adjacent to the international convention and exhibition center in Yunqi town in the City of Hangzhou. 

 

The School of Fundamental Physics and Mathematical Sciences is one of the six secondary colleges of Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study. It is developed in close association with the International Centre for Theoretical Physics Asia-Pacific (ICTP-AP) and the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The school aims to build a first-class scientific knowledge and talent base.

 

Fields:

Major research will focus on: quantum cosmophysics, gravitational waves and detection, plasma physics, space propulsion and drag free technologies, advanced space materials and laser interference ranging systems.

 

Job Description:

Candidates for the positions are required to have a PhD or equivalent degree in one or more relevant fields, to be highly motivated and be able to conduct outstanding research. They are expected to have published papers as first or corresponding author in well-known reputed academic journals.
